Disney Channel star Jenna Ortega and recording artist Jacob Sartorius sparked relationship rumors after looking quite cutesy while spending some time together in New York City not too long ago. Both the Stuck in the Middle actress and "Skateboard" crooner took to social media to document their NYC adventures, and their use of heart emojis in the captions led many to believe that these two became more than just friends. That is, until it was revealed that it was all for Jacob's "Chapstick" music video. We caught up with Jacob at the 2017 Nickelodeon HALO Awards, and he exclusively told us what it was like working with Jenna on the project.
"We’re really good friends, and she’s really nice," Jacob told J-14. "It was really fun to film the video. She’s really nice, so we had good chemistry on camera and off."
Before the video premiered, they totally had us fooled that they were dating IRL for a while there. The rumored teenage couple each share a love of musical.ly, so it didn't surprise us when Jacob shared one of their photos together on the platform with the caption, "NYC was amazing" – tagging Jenna, of course. Jenna even commented on one of Jacob's Instagram post of the two overlooking the NYC skyline with a red heart emoji.
Before sparking dating rumors with Jenna, Jacob was linked to a number of other rumored girlfriends. Relationship rumors swirled around Luna Blaise and Jacob after the actress appeared in his "Sweatshirt" music video, and they even tweeted that they were official before deleting the messages after just one minute. The singer was also shipped with Maddie Ziegler, but she is now in a happy relationship with her boyfriend Jack Kelly. Some also believe that he and Baby Ariel were a thing, but even if that did have any truth to it, they have proven now that they're totally just friends.
We seriously cannot get enough of this music video. We wonder if Jenna will be attending one of Jacob's shows anytime soon. After all, he is gearing up for his "Left Me Hangin' Tour" in Europe and Mexico. It seems like she's a fan!
