Jeffree and Kat Von D ended their longtime friendship after the tattoo artist took to her social media in July 2016 and explained to fans the makeup artist’s alleged  “drug use, racism, and bullying” as the reasons for their friend breakup. She also accused him of reportedly stealing artwork for his makeup brand.  A few months later, in October 2016, Jeffree responded to her claims in a YouTube video and called out his ex-BFF for backstabbing him.

“Even though we were friends for ten years, you never know you’re going to literally wake up one morning and have your best friend backstab you in front of the entire world,” he said.

In 2018, the feud continued when Jeffree posted a video called “FULL FACE OF BRANDS THAT HATE ME” and called Kat out for continuing to make money off his namesake by selling a liquid lipstick shade called “Jeffree” at Sephora and on the Kat Von D beauty site.

“The fact that you are the face of the brand and your names on the packaging and you couldn’t even get my shade taken down… Can’t relate. I own my own company,” he said in the video.

The lipstick shade has since been taken off the websites and is unavailable for purchase.

Kylie Jenner

Jeffree’s feud with Kylie Jenner and her beauty line, Kylie Cosmetics, stems back to April 2016. According to Seventeen, the makeup mogul shaded the brand in a since-deleted tweet after receiving a lip gloss with a seemingly defective applicator. One month later, in an interview with Racked, he opened about his negative experience with the brand.

“She found a lab that makes a $5 formula and they’re called ColourPop. They gave her the same exact one with her name on it and charged $20 more. I’m bored,” he said. “If the product didn’t suck, I wouldn’t have anything to say. I was just giving my honest review.”

Over a year later, in December 2017, Jeffree slammed Kylie’s entire holiday collection in a YouTube video.

“This brush set with its cheap old vegan, aluminum f**king silver is just not worth the price point,” he said about her $360 brush set. “I definitely think that you’re paying for an over-hyped celebrity name and the price…I just don’t think it’s worth it.”

In July 2018, Jeffree included Kylie Cosmetics in the “FULL FACE OF BRANDS THAT HATE ME” video. He told viewers that the brand was putting out too many new products that he didn’t find exciting.

“I just think that there’s so many [Kylie Cosmetics] products being put out and it’s not exciting anymore,” he said. “It’s kind of lackluster and I’m just kind of over the brand at the moment. Maybe it will re-excite me in the future, maybe not, but right now I’m kind of like over it.”

Just after Kylie’s Forbes cover in March 2019, Jeffree reignited the feud again by taking to Twitter. “I declined the feature so they had to pick someone…,” he wrote.

Most recently, he teamed up with BFF Shane Dawson to review Kylie’s new brand, Kylie Skin. He posted a 33-minute video that showed the pair reviewing the products and totally hating them.

“I’m a little nervous, because when it comes to reviewing anything Kylie, people think there’s past tea – which there is – but like, we don’t care about each other, there’s no like animosity. I just don’t really review her stuff anymore,” he told viewers.

Jackie Aina

This feud started in 2017 after Jackie Aina posted a video to her YouTube channel breaking down all the products she wouldn’t be buying. According to Teen Vogue, after the video Jeffree blocked her on Instagram and the two went back-and-forth on Twitter in a since-deleted series of tweets. After their Twitter exchange, Jeffree’s former hairstylist, Daved Anthony Munoz, posted screenshots of text messages and a video in which the makeup artist uses racist terms.

In September 2018, Jackie took to Twitter and posted a letter addressed to Jeffree and spoke out about his actions, which she believed to be racist.

“I have not and will not excuse his blatantly racist behavior and — not his past references to me in derogatory terms, his use of the N word nor his efforts to eliminate spaces and opportunities for people of color,” she wrote in the tweet. “No one in the community should feel like they are protected enough to continuously say things to make black women feel ugly and ashamed in their own skin.”

Jeffree did not respond to Jackie’s letter.

Too Faced Cosmetics and Nikkie Tutorials

In 2017, Jeffree ignited a feud with Too Faced Cosmetics founder Jerrod Blandino. It all started after Jerrod seemingly shaded a rival cosmetics brand in a since-deleted Instagram post. Jeffree took to social media, starting with Twitter, and directed 20 since-deleted tweets at the founder. He them took to snapchat and went on a multiple video rant that called out Jerrod for his apparent shade.

How does Nikkie Tutorials fit in? During his epic snapchat rant, Jeffree threatened to reveal Nikkie’s Too Faced collaboration contract alleging that she was grossly underpaid.

In 2018, Nikkie posted a video to her YouTube channel and revealed that her and Jeffree are no longer friends.

Laura Lee, Gabriel Zamora, Nikita Dragun and Manny MUA

The Jeffree feud that shook the YouTube beauty community to is core also involved beauty gurus Laura Lee, Gabriel Zamora, Nikita Dragun and Manny MUA. According to Teen Vogue, fans first speculated that Jeffree and Laura were no longer friends in November 2017 after he took to Twitter and posted a since-deleted photo with the caption, “walking in my ex best friend’s funeral like.”

The feud between the two was confirmed after Jeffree responded to a fan and called Laura “pure evil.”

“You know nothing about her personality,” he wrote. “Her soul is pure evil.”

In August 2018 Jeffree got real in a video about his ex-friends in the beauty community.

“People still don’t really know what went on,” he said. “Why do I feel like they need to know? Because there are so many versions of things that never happened out there. Half of the people still think I’m the bad guy, when I only loved and cared about all these people, boosted them up, and gave them all my connections, but I’m still the f**king bad guy.”

Laura, Gabriel, Nikita and Manny then allegedly responded to the video by tweeting a picture of their friend group along with the caption, “B*tch is bitter because without him we’re doing better.”

The feud as seemingly been put to rest as both Manny and Gabriel made YouTube videos publicly apologizing to Jeffree for this behavior.

Michelle Dy

Their longtime feud began in 2019 after Michelle Dy launched a series on her YouTube channel testing different makeup lines and “approving” products. Once Jeffree caught wind of this, he called Michelle out via Snapchat for copying his “Jeffree Star Approved” videos.

“So there is a YouTuber who is not known here in America, but they recently tried to steal my ‘approved’ — trademarked — whole entire series and do it on their channel,” he said in August 2018. “I’m like, I know I didn’t invent the word approved but girl, that’s been my thing for two years now.”

Michelle then apologized via Twitter, seemingly ending the feud until 2019.

On October 29, a fan took to Twitter asking Jeffree for an honest review of the beauty guru’s soon-to-be released cosmetics line, Michelle Dy Basics. The 33-year-old makeup artist responded to the tweet, reigniting the feud.

“I don’t have time to review trash on my channel!” he wrote on Twitter.

Michelle clapped back to the YouTube star with tweets of her own.

“I’m good luv, enjoy,” she wrote initially. Then went on to say, “Call me trash all you want, but not the products which not just i, but a lot of people worked hard for. If it didnt pass your standards, I cannot do anything about that. But one thing is for sure, I worked hard, poured my heart and 100% into it and I am proud of it.”

James Charles and Tati Westbrook

For those who missed it, back in May the beauty community was shook when Tati Westbrook posted a video to her YouTube channel exposing James Charles. In the lengthy video, she accused him of lying, manipulating and being a disrespectful person. Jeffree joined in on the scandal, seemingly coming to Tati’s defense and calling the 20-year-old a “danger to society.”

Once the had blown over, Jeffree took to YouTube and posted an apology video to James.

“Most of you have seen some brutal tweets that I sent out last week,” the Jeffree Star Cosmetics founder said. “A lot of you have seen the vicious text messages I’ve sent, and I want you to understand something. Because I said those things, that doesn’t equal me hating James Charles. He’s been in my life for a few years now. Are we the best of friends? No. But we had a real connection. I loved and cared about him and I definitely thing I mishandled our friendship.”

The apology seemingly ending his fighting with James, but ignited a feud with Tati. In October, fans noticed that Jeffree unfollowed Tati on social media and there was major speculation about bad blood between the two makeup moguls, which  stemmed from their beauty lines – Jeffree Star Cosmetics and Tati Beauty.

Tati recently released her first-ever eyeshadow palette while Jeffree teamed up with Shane Dawson for a huge collaboration, set to launch on November 1. Followers seem to think that this possible tension might have come from the fact that the launch dates of these products were only one week apart.
