Get ready to see Josh Peck in a brand new show! On Monday, February 10, it was announced that the Drake & Josh alum would be taking on a new, and very exciting, role in an upcoming Disney+ series called Turner & Hooch.
Based off a 1989 buddy-cop film of the same name, starring Hollywood legend Tom Hanks, the 12-episode series is set to follow an ambitious U.S. Marshall named Scott Turner (played by Josh) who inherits an unruly pup named Hooch. He will soon come to realize that the pet he never wanted might quickly become the partner he needs.
After the announcement went live, Josh took to his social media and shared the exciting news with his 9.5 million Instagram followers. He posted a screenshot of an article announcing the series and reposted a sweet congratulations message from a friend and fellow comedian on his Instagram Stories.
There’s yet to be any announcement on who will play Josh’s character’s trusty sidekick or when the series will premiere on the streaming service.
As fans know, the upcoming Turner & Hooch reboot isn’t the only remake Disney+ has on board. In November 2019, the streaming service premiered the now fan-favorite series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which brought back the iconic Disney Channel original movie for a 10-episode first season that completely reimagined the film. Disney+ plus loved the reboot series so much, that it was for a second season before it even premiered! For the second season, the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series cast will take on the classic Disney film Beauty and the Beast as their next musical.
That’s not all! In August 2019, the streaming service also announced its plans to reboot the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire. As of January 2020, it seemed like production for the series had started up once again after the showrunner and OG creator had stepped away from the project.
