Almost everyone can agree that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom seem as happy as they could be together, right? But it turns out, things aren’t always exactly as they seem. Yep, the singer just got real about the ups and downs of their relationship, and she admitted that they have been through “f**king hell” together.
“We’re not flaunting how in love we are,” the “Roar” songstress explained during her interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on Thursday, August 20, while discussing her upcoming album, Smile. “We have been through f**king hell. We have been down to the mat and come back up again so far, and that’s even what the song ‘Witness’ was about. ‘If I lost it all today, would you stay? Could you go down with me to the mat and come back up?’ I was testing that already. Your higher self always knows. Your higher self always knows what you’re unconsciously saying.”
The 35-year-old admitted that despite being in love, they still have their problems.
“Now it’s a relationship, but it’s work,” she continued. “Dating is different than real relationships. You’ve got to make a choice every day to be in this relationship and to work hard on yourself with someone that’s mirroring you so intensely. Like, he doesn’t let me rest. He’s not Katy Perry’s biggest fan. He’s here for Katheryn Hudson. He’s here for building.”
As fans know, the American Idol judge is currently xpecting their first baby with the Pirates of the Caribbean star. She dropped the bombshell news when she released the music video for her new song “Never Worn White” on March 4, 2020. In the visual, she showed off her growing baby bump.
Then, on April 4, 2020, she revealed that they were having a baby girl! She shared a snap of the actor with pink cake all over his face, which she captioned, “It’s a girl,” along with some pink hearts.
