KJ Apa seems to be well, rather accident prone since the actor let us know that once again he has injured himself. The Riverdale star took to Instagram to share a selfie that also features his swollen, bleeding hand and he appears to be an in a doctor's office. "I guess that's what happens when you punch a bear in the face," KJ wrote in the caption.
Umm, okay so we doubt he actually fought a bear and was just making light of what actually happened but yikes, KJ’s hand injury looks pretty painful. This isn’t the first time he’s ended up hurting his hand either. While filming the season one finale of _Riverdale_, he straight up broke it.
Our finale ep is so good I can't stop thinking about it. Not to mention I broke my hand while shooting it. Mental.

As you may recall, there was a scene when his character Archie has to punch an iced over Sweetwater River in order to get Cheryl out, since she fell in. KJ hid how bad he was hurt too.
"I wasn’t really punching the ice, but I got a little bit too excited. I was punching a foam mat [that was] sitting on the ice. It was cold, so I didn’t really feel it. It wasn’t until 20 minutes after that I realized I broke my hand. I didn’t tell anyone," he said in an interview with TVLine. He literally was so focused on the task at hand! This is something his co-star Madelaine Petsch, the one and only Cheryl Blossom herself, couldn't help but praise KJ about. The cast still had to film some pretty intense scenes left to film out on that freezing cold day after KJ hurt himself but he didn't let that stop him from powering through and he even was there to comfort Madelaine during the scenes too.
"That was such a big day for all of us—KJ broke his hand during filming, so we only had one take of everything that night. He hurt himself and then they were like, 'Okay, we got one take and then we gotta go.' We had one take for me to hold the water and spit it on him—it became very serious very quickly," Madelaine said to Marie Clarie. "It shows you what kind of person KJ is—we were waiting between one part of the scene and another, and his hand was already broken but he didn't know yet. We were freezing cold. I remember KJ picked me up and held me and a location guy put a heated blanket on me, and everyone crowded around me breathing on me to keep me warm. That just shows you what kind of people I work with. We genuinely care about each other."

That's a wrap on season 1 of Riverdale! This is BTS from Archie & the gang saving Cheryl. I was sopping wet and freezing & KJ had broken his hand. Between shots Lili was breathing on me for warmth, Cami was hugging me, KJ carrying me & TJ helping him, Cole was (of course) taking the photo. I'm so lucky to be able to call these people my family & Riverdale my home. This past year has been the best of my life. Thank you all for coming along on this journey & sharing a piece of our hearts. I feel so grateful for this ride & it's only the beginning. Season 2 here we come ❤️ PS- thanks to all 1 Million of you✨✨
KJ was hurt but still was his the sweet self, helping out Madelaine. PRECIOUS. But let’s hope he doesn’t keep getting himself injured here. You might’ve noticed he actually has a scar on his face in-between his eyebrows, which he told a fan on Twitter he got from a trampoline incident.
@alaynaoday trampoline 👍

So what we're gathering here is that KJ is often getting hurt. Have to stay safe out here, bro. You're our Archie Andrews now. Riverdale needs you in one piece.
