She’s setting the record straight! Kylie Jenner took to Instagram Stories on Monday, August 17, and responded to claims that she used “brown-skinned girl” to caption a recent Instagram post.
For those who missed it, the reality star posted a series of photos that showed her wearing a tie-dye printed jumpsuit. Currently, the caption reads, “Brown-eyed girl,” but according to some alleged screenshots circulating online, some people have accused the 23-year-old of initially writing “brown-skinned girl,” alongside the photos.
After The Shade Room Instagram account posted a snap of the alleged original caption next to her edited caption, Kylie clapped back. The social media account wrote that they did not know the “origin” of the alleged caption, and the makeup mogul responded, “This is photoshopped. Never said this. Have a good day.”
She then went on to address the entire situation in a series of Instagram Stories.
“Here is at the fake version that everyone believed,” Kylie wrote, sharing images of the two captions, “[I] saw online someone Photoshopped this photo I posted to change my caption from ‘brown-eyed girl’ to ‘brown-skinned girl.’ I never said this.”
In a second social media post, she emphasized that the caption was edited.
“The real version,” the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wrote, clarifying that her original caption was just a series of emojis before she changed it “a few minutes later.”
In a final Instagram Stories post about the entire situation, Kylie posted screenshots of comments written by fans.
“I saw the photo as it was posted and it said, ‘Brown-eyed,'” the fan wrote. “Why do people need to make drama out of everything and invent lies?”
Another added, “I mean, if the same screenshot is used everywhere that means it’s edited but it it was real there would be many different screenshots from different phones and fonts.”
