Our hearts go out to Lady Gaga today. The eccentric entertainer was forced to cancel her performance at the 2017 Rock in Rio festival on Friday, September 15th. She posted a series of pictures from a hospital bed and with an IV attached to her arm on social media. Gaga explained that this isn't just some small injury from being too active and running around with her busy schedule. She is in severe pain and really cannot perform to her fullest.

The singer has a documentary coming out on Netlfix titled, Gaga: Five Foot Two, she details her battle with the chronic illness, Fibromyalgia. She tweeted a message to her fans just two days and said, "In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it."

Today, fans get a real, first-hand account of the kind of pain that can take over Gaga's body. She posted this photo on Instagram with the message, "Brazil, I'm devastated that I'm not well enough to come to Rock In Rio. I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. ??I'm so sorry, and I love you so much. ?."

In the next photo, seemingly written by someone from her team, the message read, "Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform. As a result, she sadly must withdraw from this Friday's Rock In Rio performance. Lady Gaga is under the care of expert medical professionals. She sends her love to all her fans in Rio and thanks them for their support and understanding." Our hearts go out to her today and know that all of her Little Monsters are backing her up.

Gaga herself then posted another photo of the back of her neck with the word 'RIO' tattooed on it. She captioned this shot, "I was taken to the hospital, it is not simply hip pain or wear and tear from the road, I am in severe pain. But am in good hands w/ the very best doctors. Please don't forget my love for you. ? Remember years ago when I tattooed Rio on my neck, the tattoo was written by children in the favelas. ??R✝️O You hold a special place in my heart I love you."

Our only hope is that Gaga gets on the road to a speedy recovery. There's something to be said for an artist that listens to their body and takes good care of themselves. Music might be their careers but their health is their life and we're so happy Gaga is taking control. Our thoughts are with her and her family and friends at this difficult time.
