Can we get a show of hands — who here was obsessed with A Cinderella Story back in the day? We know we were. Well guys, we have the most exciting news ever! We just found out that they’re adding another movie to the epic series, and you won’t believe who’s starring in it.
Drum roll please… the new film, called A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish will star Austin & Ally actress Laura Marano and Wizards Of Waverly Place star Gregg Sulkin!
OMG. Two of our favorite Disney stars together in one movie? It’s bound to be epic. And you may have guessed this from the name, but they’re actually turning it into a Christmas movie! Wow, it seriously keeps getting better and better.
According to a press release, the movie is about a young girl named Kat, who works as a singing elf at Santa Land and dreams of becoming a famous singer and songwriter. Unfortunately, her cruel stepfamily won’t let that happen. But when she meets and stars to fall for a new guy at work named Nick, things start to look up.
WE NEED TO SEE THIS. Filming has reportedly already begun in Vancouver, Canada, although, they unfortunately haven’t announced a release date yet. The cast also includes Isabella Gomez, Barclay Hope, Johannah Newmarch, Lillian Doucet-Roche and Chanelle Peloso.
As fans know, this will be the fifth film in the series. The first film, which came out in 2004, starred Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray, and boy was it epic. Then the sequel, Another Cinderella Story, hit TV screens in 2008. That one starred Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley. In 2011, the third flick, A Cinderella Story: Once Upon A Song with Lucy Hale and Freddie Stroma, came out. And then in 2016, they released A Cinderella Story: If The Shoe Fits (which starred Sofia Carson and Thomas Law) — the fourth movie in the series. We honestly didn’t think the cast could get any more iconic than the first few films in the series, but we guess we were wrong!
We cannot wait to see it!
