Everyone makes mistakes, but what’s important is the lesson learned from those errors.
After the drastic change, Lele announced to her 18 million Instagram followers in a now deleted post that she was to donate every inch of the hair that was cut. Many of course applauded the star for the act, while others were quick to take note that what Lele planned to do was not possible.
Why? Well, in the picture the social media star shared with fans, aside from being able to see the tracks of her extensions, fans also took note that her hair had been recently dyed. Turns out that organizations who accept hair donations, do not take color treated hair. Therefore, the starlet could not give back the way she had announced earlier.
A wave of backlash quickly followed the web star on social media, to the point where many were trying to get the hashtag, #leleponsisoverparty trending on Twitter.
Lele was quick to take notice, and decided to address the situation head-on, by releasing a statement in a series of tweets. She wrote, “To help clear any assumptions, I cut my hair with the intention of donating it. Sadly after trying, I learned charities who donate wigs don’t accept color treated hair. So I’m finding other ways to help those affected by hair loss b/c of cancer. This is still a priority for me."

What’s important here is not that Lele owned up to her own mistake, but that she is sticking to her word. She will find another way to help the cause even though she wasn't able to do so in the way she originally planned. Giving back is important, and it's great to see that this small hiccup won't stop Lele from doing so.
