One Direction has kept pretty mum about the exact details of their break (except to reassure fans that this isn't the last you'll see of 1D), but Liam Payne may have accidentally spilled the duration of their hiatus.
"We haven't really had time to write an album and whereas two years off...Writing's not really a job, it's so much fun, we've always had to rush it so it's nice in these two years I'm going to write some songs and see what happens," he said on the BBC Radio 1 show.
Fans have been a little disheartened by the news, and are mostly just worried that this means the group is over for good.
Trying to stay positive that One Direction isn't over. But hearing that the hiatus is for two years now, really worries me. :( #OneDirection— Kollette Morrison (@shortykmo94) November 12, 2015
My worst fear ever that that @onedirection won't come back from their break. The thought just absolutely kills me.— Lol Im a Directioner (@rianneartim1D) November 12, 2015
While this break is a bit longer than we may have initially thought, we have faith in the boys. If they tell us they're coming back, they're coming back!
Are you sad they're going on a break for two years? Are you happy for them? Let us know in the comments!
