Here comes the bride! Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson and her boyfriend, Chris Hughes, are already talking marriage. Yep, the Love Island star just revealed to British newspaper The Sun that they’re ready to walk down the aisle together, and our hearts are bursting.
“We both want to get married,” he said. “We found each other and we have endless respect for each other. I think that’s why our relationship works. We’re proper family people. We love each other’s family. I’m ready to settle down and I think she is.”
The 26-year-old also explained that when it comes to their wedding, he definitely wants to go the traditional route.
“I’m traditional — I like a nice church wedding and I think Jesy is open to that too,” he continued. “I like traditional things. I wouldn’t get married abroad. No, that’s not for me.”
As fans know, the “Black Magic” songstress and the reality star have been dating since January. They were first spotted hanging out together at a Harry Potter-themed bar in London, after he reportedly slid into her DMs. Since then, the couple has been constantly gushing over each other on Instagram, supporting each other’s work and posting the cutest, PDA-filled snaps.
“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. It’s official, she’s my girlfriend! I’m so happy,” Chris gushed during an interview in March. “She’s the nicest girl I’ve ever met, this is no exaggeration — she’s got a heart like she was your mother or something. She’s so caring. We just get on like best mates, and that’s the beauty about it.”
And when Jesy, 28, celebrated her birthday in June, her beau posted the sweetest tribute for her.
“Happy birthday to a best friend, my better half and the most caring person I could have wished to meet,” he wrote on Instagram. “Every day is better now. The fact I love you when I’m hungry says it all. The core to my [apple]… have the best day and keep on shining, you deserve the world.”
And in July, Chris revealed that they had moved in together! When asked how they make their romance work despite their busy schedules, he said, “Do you know what, our schedules aren’t too bad. We obviously live together now, which I think everyone knows. But we fit around it. Nobody is ever too busy for love, that’s what they say. Things are marvelous. Everything’s good. She’s a wonderful lady.”
