Liv and Maddie as we know it is officially a thing of the past but the creators of the beloved series, John D. Beck and Ron Hart, are working on a brand new series Nickelodeon’s, Knight Squad. Fun fact: this show was created by Sean Cunningham and Marc Dworkin who were executive producers of another Nick fave, The Thundermans. So you already know it’s going to be your new obsession, that’s for sure as it’s starring Musical.ly star Daniella Perkins, Bella and the Bulldogs star Lillimar and 100 Things to Do Before High School actor Owen Joyner.

John posted a message on Twitter that read, “So excited to start working on the new @Nickelodeon series #KnightSquad! It’s gonna be a blast! @Scatter @MarcDworkin @seanWcunningham RTplz.”

YASS. There aren’t many details about the new show just yet but it apparently takes place at a magical school for knights in training. Ahem, hence the show’s name, Knight Squad. There are two students who come together to form an alliance and a special friendship vowing to protect each other’s secrets. Not only that but they are also both trying to follow their dreams. We caught up with Owen at the 2017 Nickelodeon HALO Awards, and he filled us in – in between showing us his go-to dance move, of course.

“I love Knight Squad. I think it’s exciting because I don’t think there’s anything like it,” he exclusively told us. “Dani’s character – she plays Yara. I play Arc. And you know, we have a lot of secrets between us. We kind of know a lot of things that other people don’t. So it kind of pulls us together as friends.”

Of course, this is much different than what we saw in Liv and Maddie. But, there’s something to be said about these writers. They are freaking amazing and definitely coming off of something huge with Liv and Maddie. Everyone is expecting big things from Knight Squad and we have a feeling no one will be disappointed. Not only are the writers already respected in the business but the cast is a dream team. Amarr M. Wooten who played the role of Finch will also dip his toes in Knight Squad.

It’s going to be EPIC. There’s no word yet on when the series will premiere but we’ll be tapping our toes anxiously waiting.
