Once upon a time, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik were the best of friends during the days they were bandmates in One Direction. They were always being silly together, making each other laugh and even got matching tattoos. But when Zayn left the band, things became strained for Zouis, especially when they got into a spat on Twitter that involved Zayn's then friend, producer Naughty Boy. Directioners everywhere were upset to find out these two were no longer close which Zayn once confirmed when he said all he could do was "like" a photo of Louis and his son Freddie since they were no longer on speaking terms. But it looks like the tides have turned since Louis recently revealed in a new interview that he and Zayn have since reconciled.
While speaking to Sirius XM*, Louis was asked what it's like when he hears Zayn's solo music on the radio, and in typical Louis fashion he was nothing but honest.
"It's a strange feeling but it's nice. I think a lot of us have spoken recently, me and Zayn have spoken recently, gotten to a point now where you can just really be happy for each other. Things have happened in the past, of course. It's great. His first song was an absolute smash and that's a great song. It's nice," Louis said. Here is the audio clip so you can take a listen:
And the tears are streaming. These two have certainly come a long way and it's nice to know Zayn and Louis still have each other's backs after all these years. Z was the first of the 1D boys to publicly express his condolences to Louis when his mom Johannah Deakin tragically passed away.
@Louis_Tomlinson love you bro! All of your family is in my prayers. proud of your strength and know your mum is too x— zayn (@zaynmalik) December 9, 2016
Perhaps it was that one tweet that led the guys to mend their tattered relationship, but no matter what, being a part of One Direction has clearly bonded Louis, Zayn, along with Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Liam Payne forever. Niall and Zayn even chatted for a bit at the 2016 American Music Awards, so it's safe to say there aren't any hard feelings between these lads. Long live Zouis.
