Louis Tomlinson's mother, Johannah Deakin, passed away late last year after being diagnosed with leukemia. While the One Direction singer visited the SiriusXM satellite radio show Hits 1 on Tuesday, he had to answer his first question about his mother's death—and though it was a bit uncomfortable— the singer answered it honestly and bravely.

Johannah left behind seven children but not without giving them some major life lessons to live by before her passing. Louis revealed that although he thought about quitting his career for a bit, his mom was firm in her belief that he should continue working.

The radio host asked him about it during the interview, saying: "I do want to mention this because I know it happened in your life recently, how was it after your mother's passing staying in the industry, did you ever think about stepping back and taking a break?"

"Yeah, I mean at first, It's not something that I feel 100 per cent comfortable talking too much about, but just quickly, when I first found out the news I kind of did want to throw the towel in," Louis said.

"But it was my mom who said to me that I've just got to keep going. She told me very sternly that she wanted me to. I'm not doing it for her but we're doing it… "

"Our deepest condolences," the radio hosts said.

Louis made his debut as a solo artist on The X Factor with his collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki titled "Just Hold On" for the first time a few days after his mother died

"Thank you. It was tough, but I felt like it was nice for me to almost have a little send off for her," he said.

"Your fans love you and there is no need to lump sadness on top of sadness. The music makes people happy and it is a great thing," they told him.

Wow! We are SO proud of Louis for handling this interview so well since talking about such private matters involving the death of a loved one.
