Some people are not here for Lottie Tomlinson‘s new relationship. The younger sister of One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson is reportedly dating Caroline Flack‘s ex-boyfriend Lewis Burton, and they have received a lot of backlash over their romance — especially after the late star’s mother seemingly slammed them online.
According to Daily Mail, the two stars started dating back in July, five months after Caroline’s tragic death. And in alleged screenshots obtained by the outlet, Caroline’s mom, Christine, seemingly shared her thoughts about the new relationship in a series of Instagram comments.
“He is now in the same pose [with a] different girl,” she reportedly wrote under an old snap that Lewis posted of him and Caroline.
And when a fan commented, “He’s got a new gal and she’s dead. I honestly blame his womanizing ways, poor Caroline,” Christine allegedly replied, “I agree.”
As fans know, it was announced that Caroline — who was the former host of the U.K. reality series Love Island and judge on The X Factor — had sadly passed away from an apparent suicide on February 15, 2020. Lewis and Caroline were dating at the time of her death, despite her previous arrest for allegedly assaulting him with a lamp.
At the time, the tennis player shared a touching tribute to the TV show host.
“My heart is broken,” he wrote. “We had something so special. I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking. I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday. I love you with all my heart.”
In another alleged comment, Christine claimed that their relationship was what “ended her life.”
As for his new romance with Lottie, they have yet to post anything about it online, but they were photographed packing on the PDA together in Ibiza earlier this week. Daily Mail reported that the athlete and the Instagram model, who has lost her sister, Félicité Tomlinson and her mom, Johannah Deakin, “bonded over the grief of losing their respective loved ones.”
“They have been meeting up in secret for weeks but their newfound friendship hasn’t gone unnoticed by mutual pals. Not all of Caroline’s friends are happy with how the situation appears to be developing but can understand that both Lottie and Lewis have been there for each other as a shoulder to cry on,” a source told them.
