Maddie Ziegler and Millie Bobby Brown arguably have one of the greatest friendships in the celebrity world right now. I mean, who wouldn’t want to get in on those slumber parties? We can only imagine it’s non-stop chatter about the hottest guys they’ve met and an all-night dance party. Oh yeah, and maybe sharing some stories about their current BAEs, Jack Kelly and Jacob Sartorius. Aside from all the fun stuff, they really are supportive of each other’s accomplishments and careers. To be honest, if it wasn’t for Maddie and the success she had early on in her career, we may not know Millie like we do today.
The Stranger Things star opened up on the 2018 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards red carpet about who actually inspired her to become an actress. Believe it or not, it was the Dance Moms alum. Millie explained, “I was like, ‘If she could do it, I feel like could do it!'” Seriously, we’re just picturing a young Millie watching Maddie’s career take off before the two even knew each other and finding that drive inside to follow the same sort of path. Of course, she didn’t fail to mention Audrey Hepburn, Angelina Jolie and Jodie Foster who have also been role models when it comes to her professional life.
The girls actually met not too long ago. Maddie spoke exclusively with J-14 and said, “Millie came to a filming of So You Think You Can Dance and came in my dressing room to meet me. After, we would DM each other.” The rest is just history.
And those sleepovers we mentioned earlier, they actually happen. We weren’t kidding, you guys. Maddie had Millie over for her first sleepover ever, FYI. Maddie told J-14, “She’d never had a sleepover, so of course, I had to have her over for her first one. The fire alarm went off at my apartment complex at 3 a.m., and we had to go outside. She asked me, ‘Is this normal?’ I laughed so hard. We just make each other laugh so much.” So freaking cute. It’s pretty incredible to see both girls building each other up even though they work in the same space. Just goes to show you how not only mature they are but how in the grand scheme of things, it’s relationships that matter not trying to get ahead of each other within the industry.
Of course, we must thank Maddie for just being herself. Without her passion for dance, continuing to film for Dance Moms and breaking out as an actress, we may never have gotten the gem that is Millie. Truly, we’re #blessed.
