Mandy Moore and Shane West had the best on screen chemistry ever: Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter's relationship is what every teenage girl dreams about. They were literally meant to be together… the way that they talked and looked into each other's eyes made you wish they had this connection in real life.
And maybe, just maybe, they did!
Years later, Mandy has just confessed to something huge and we can barely contain our excitement. She actually admitted that she fell in love with Shane while they were filming. YES…she really said this and we’re seriously dead. Done. Oh my god.
The This Is Us star chatted with Entertainment Weekly, saying, "Shane was so cool. Everything about him – the way he dressed, the little cigarettes that he smoked, and the music he listened to. He was the character to me and there was definitely a part of me that absolutely fell in love with him."
"I don’t know if I could discern the difference between him and the character at that point in time because, again, it was my first experience doing anything like this and I was a 16-year-old, impressionable girl. I was just so caught up in the moment and the experience."
Mandy continued, "I absolutely walked away from that project so convinced that there would never be a project as special as that. Shane was so wonderful."
Cue freak out. Who feels like they need to go back and watch the movie now that you know this?! Just knowing that all along Jamie looking into Landon's eyes was actually Mandy looking into Shane's eyes?? Can this day get ANY better?
Of course, the pair went their separate ways. But, this is truly one on-screen couple that will live on forever!
