After news hit the web that her 2009 song from film The Last Song had reentered the music charts, Miley Cyrus reacted in the best way!

“Streaming the wrong song,” the former Disney Channel star wrote, alongside stats that said “When I Look At You“ was charting on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.

As fans know, this news came just days after the 27-year-old dropped her brand new single, “Midnight Sky.” For those who missed it, the track officially came out on Friday, August 14, alongside a self-directed music video. This was the first song the Hannah Montana alum released since 2019, and it immediately gave listeners some serious disco vibes, along with important messages about empowerment and independence.

“I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no / I don’t need to be loved by you (By you),” the lyrics read. “Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, oh no / I don’t need to be loved by you.”

“Midnight Sky” was the first part of Miley’s upcoming album, She Is Miley Cyruswhich doesn’t have a release date just yet.

For those who missed, the free spirited song about not needing or belonging to anyone came just before the songstress confirmed that she had split from her boyfriend, Cody Simpson, after 10 months together

“Today, it came out that me and my boyfriend had broken up. It was ‘confirmed by a reliable source,’ although no one is reliable in a relationship, except the two individuals participating in it. But for right now, two halves cannot make a whole and we’re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we want to be,” she explained during an Instagram Live. “Like everyone else at this age, we’re deciding who we want to be and what we want to do with our lives. So don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re spotted hanging out or getting pizza. We’ve been friends for 10 years and will continue to be friends. Don’t make it something that it is not.”
