After defending Penn Badgley‘s stalker character on the Lifetime-turned-Netflix series YouMillie Bobby Brown is taking back what she said about his character being “not creepy.”

The Stranger Things star took to her Instagram Stories recently to issue an apology, saying, “So, I just finished You, and I guess the other day I made a video. I was on episode two. I guess I gathered an analysis too quickly. I watched episode 10. He most definitely is a stalker. But, it was a really great show so I’m really excited for Season 2. My bad if I upset anyone.”

If you missed her initial story, which prompted this whole thing, the 14-year-old actress came under fire for romanticizing the Gossip Girl alum’s character, Joe Goldberg, by saying, “he’s in love with her and it’s OK.” Uhh… what?

If you’ve seen the series, you know all about how creepy Joe really is. We mean, he peers into his love interest’s window at night, lurks outside of her apartment and murders people in an effort to salvage their relationship. Still, Millie insisted he was just a guy in love, so of course, people took issue with that. Luckily, she saw the hate coming from a mile away.

“By the way, I know everybody is gonna say, ‘Aw, he’s a stalker … why would you support that?’ No, like … he’s in love with her. And it’s just, like … just watch the show and don’t judge me on my opinion,” she said.

The good news is that the young and impressionable teenager has since realized she made a huge mistake, and she hereby agrees that Joe is not only creepy, but dangerous too. Now that that’s over and done with, though, we do have to admit that there’s one thing we completely agree with her on. Season 2 of You is happening and, like Millie, we can’t wait!
