Get ready to take a trip back in time with Millie Bobby Brown! That’s right, the Stranger Things star is taking on the starring role in the upcoming Netflix movie Enola Holmes, based on the book series by Nancy Springer.
Set to be released on September 23, 2020, the film follows 16-year-old Enola who “wakes to find that her mother has disappeared, leaving behind an odd assortment of gifts but no apparent clue as to where she’s gone or why,” according to the streaming service. From the sound of it, this is one mysterious flick we won’t want to miss!

“After a free-spirited childhood, Enola suddenly finds herself under the care of her brothers Sherlock and Mycroft, both set on sending her away to a finishing school for ‘proper’ young ladies. Refusing to follow their wishes, Enola escapes to search for her mother in London. But when her journey finds her entangled in a mystery surrounding a young runaway Lord, Enola becomes a super-sleuth in her own right, outwitting her famous brother as she unravels a conspiracy that threatens to set back the course of history,” Netflix added to their synopsis.
Aside from Millie, the film also stars Harry Potter alum Helena Bonham Carter, The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin, Henry Cavill and Louis Partridge.
During an interview with USA Today, the 16-year-old actress teased what fans can expect to see once the movie officially premieres.
“What you’re watching is a young girl trying to find herself in hectic chaos that she doesn’t really know how to handle, but that’s just kind of life in general for a teenage girl,” she gushed, before opening up about working alongside the likes of Sam and Henry. “Obviously, me being me, I annoyed Henry every day. I was always telling him about the boys I liked in hair and makeup, and he’d be like, ‘Millie, shut up. I do not want to hear this.’”
