It’s safe to say Ariana Grande created a certified bop with her latest single “thank u, next” and part of what makes the self-love anthem so powerful is that the songstress legit name-dropped four of her famous ex-boyfriends. And while Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Pete Davidson, and the late Mac Miller all got shout-outs with the 25-year-old songstress revealing what she learned from each of these relationships, not all of her exes were mentioned. Noticeably missing from the song are Jai Brooks and Nathan Sykes and well, now we know how Nathan feels about the snub.

The 25-year-old singer was straight-up asked if had listened to the song yet and how he felt to be left off the list of Ariana’s former loves and well, Nathan is pretty happy he wasn’t named dropped!

“I haven’t [heard it] yet. But I hear it’s very good though,” Nathan said about the song, adding with a laugh, “that’s good, that’s nice [I wasn’t mentioned]. I hear it’s amazing, so that’s fantastic. I think if people are releasing good music and they’re happy with the music they’re releasing, then that’s great.”

So there we have it: he’s totally cool with not being included on the track. Ari did say Big Sean, 30, and Ricky heard the song before she released it, seemingly getting their seal of approval. Ricky, the 26-year-old who was once her backup dancer, even took to his Instagram Story to let everyone know he is a fan of the track and even poked some fun at the lyrics that are about him. It looks like she really is on good terms with her exes and that’s something everyone can learn from. As for Nathan, he was grilled even more about what he thinks Ariana learned from their time together and what he learned from her and all he could say is that they dated so long ago, it’s not really something he thinks about, tbh.

“That’s not a question for me, I don’t tell anyone what they can learn from me,” he joked. “It was a long time ago, so I suppose you just grow as a person, don’t you? [We were] very very young when that happened. It’s been a long time, I’ve obviously grown up a lot.”

Ariana and Nathan dated back in 2013 and even recorded a duet together and were just a cute pair.

Their relationship did have some drama swirling around it though, as she started Nathan after her messy breakup from Jai, and there was plenty of back and forth on Twitter. But as Nathan said, this all happened years ago and if you’re thinking there’s a possibility he and Ari might reconnect, he quickly shut that idea down.

“No, no, like I said, it was a long time ago,” Nathan said in regards to reuniting with Ariana. And to that we say, thank you, next.
