Niall Horan skipped out on the 2017 BRIT Awards last night, but he did attend a few after parties where he spilled some major details about his life and the fate of One Direction.

The "This Town" singer chatted with The Sun and revealed why he wasn't able to make the show. Niall said, "I missed the show because I was in the studio until late. I’m gutted I couldn’t be onstage with Liam to collect the award."

He continued, "I basically have no life now. It's pretty boring. I'm just working really hard on my album." This also includes the girls in his life! Niall reportedly said that he has no time for dating or relationships at the moment because he's so focused and driven in the musical process.

Aww! We're pretty sure every fan forgives him for not being at the show. To be honest, this is definitely an acceptable excuse. Our favorite Irish guy seems like he's working super hard on new jams for his fans and that's really what matters most.

Liam Payne accepted the award on behalf of the band and couldn't have done a better job. He really made Directioners feel like the band would definitely be back. Liam gave a light of hope to the whole One Direction family regarding the future of the group's music and their official return to the spotlight.

While talking to The Sun, Niall did the same. In regards to the timing of when the boys would record in the studio all together again, he said, "I don’t know when it will happen." Hmmm…

However, Niall's daunting statement about the unknown future of 1D shouldn't bother anyone too much. During Liam's speech, he alluded to the fact that all of the boys are working on their solo material right now, but One Direction is where they came from and who they will always be. Cue the tears!
