While speaking with ET Canada, Niall opened up about the possibility of future collaborations on some of his latest creations that are yet to be released.
"I have a couple of songs that could potentially be something like that. Fingers crossed – I can get to play some stuff to people and see what happens, but the whole idea of a collaboration, you know, it's great – because like, I don't think there's a lot of it going on in our world anyway. Not as much as there should be," Niall said in the interview.
There are endless possibilities when it comes to who would be the perfect other half to sing with Nialler, but we could probably cross off his 1D buds from the list – at least for more.
Niall spilled, "Can't rule anything out really, can you? I suppose right now, it would be a bit weird."
Considering the fact that Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson – and even their ex-bandmate Zayn Malik – are all off pursuing their solo careers, perhaps it would be a little unexpected to have only two of the boys collaborate on a song together. We think it's safe to say if they're going to get together for new music, it's going to be all four of them – or five, for all the wishful thinkers that hope Zayn will have a change of heart one day and reunite with his OG crew.
As for when Niall's debut solo album will come out, we can expect it sometime next fall.
"I'm thinkin' October, November time. There's a lot of stuff going on at the minute, promo-wise around the world. Performing things down in Australia, and it's all crazy at the minute. So when I get time to stop that – or when that stops – I'll then release it. I'm really looking forward to it," he said.
But don't get too excited. Niall isn't going to release anything until he's totally ready.
"I did release a song last September and then release another one now, and it's been like – kind of a year campaign nearly. But the way I said it to everyone – I kind of just want to do everything at my own pace and not rush everything out 'cause at the end of the day I am 23 so I have loads of time."
Who could blame him? True masterpieces take time to create. We'll just sit here patiently listening to "This Town" and "Slow Hands" on repeat until it's time for now.
