Niall Horan is in the middle of his Flicker Sessions and he’s doing it all on his own without the company and comfort of One Direction by his side. Obviously, he’s totally slaying the game but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t mind have a few friends up there with him. The Irish heartthrob chatted with 1883 magazine about guest stars on tour and being totally open to the idea. I don’t know about you but it seems like Nialler is about to pull the ultimate Taylor Swift move. Who could forget when she brought out the most famous faces in the world night after night during her 1989 World Tour? Everyone from Gigi Hadid to Idina Menzel to Shawn Mendes made an appearance and it was epic. Niall may be following in her footsteps.
Now, we know what you’re thinking. Maybe Louis Tomlinson will be in the same city when Niall performs and it will be a mini One Direction reunion. Or maybe Harry Styles will be there or even Liam Payne. To be honest, we highly doubt that. These Flicker Sessions and Niall’s upcoming Flicker World Tour is supposed to be about him. The headlines after inviting a 1D member up on stage would be savage and all about the reunion.
He explained what he would actually want to happen, “I love the whole idea of getting people up to play with you. I don’t think there’s enough of it happening. I saw Ed [Sheeran] get up there with Shawn at his show. We’re all mates, so if we’re in the same city at the same time it would be great to get up and do a cover.”
To be honest, hearing Niall and Ed sing a cover song together or Niall and Shawn or even Niall and Justin Bieber wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. However, his words do bring something into perspective and that is the fact that he definitely misses another voice singing with him. Obviously, this is nothing to discredit his solo career because it’s booming but he has always been the one to say he never wanted the hiatus and if it was up to him, the band would have kept going for a bit longer.
He told Billboard, “Every now and then you’re like, ‘F–kin’ hell, where is everyone?’ You’re sitting in an airport lounge, they call you for a plane, and you don’t stand up initially because you’re waiting on everyone else, you know? ‘Oh, Louis’ll be back from the toilet in a minute.'” Aww! It’s little snippets like this that seriously melt your heart.
Niall has even admitted that he’d drop everything to return to the band. He said, “I told my managers from the start: When One Direction comes knocking, f–k what I’m doing. I don’t give a sh-t if I sold out arenas or won Grammys. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for that.” Clearly, he’s got some ~feelings~ about the boys and what they accomplished together so we don’t blame him for missing the company up on stage. Of course, when he gets some famous faces up there with him on his solo tour they will be different faces than the ones he’s used to. But, change isn’t always a bad thing. The level of attractiveness that could radiate from a stage of Niall and the Biebs would be out of this damn world.
