Our hearts are broken as news breaks that Aaron Carter and Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter's father, Bob Carter, has passed away.

TMZ is reporting that he died on Tuesday in Florida at the age of 65. The details surrounding the death have not been released. TMZ is also claiming that Aaron tweeted something recently about his father being found unconscious but that message as since been deleted.

Bob was always a staple in the Carter family. He appeared on the family's reality show, House of Carters, which showcased the life of all five siblings – Aaron, Nick, Leslie, Angel, and Bobbie. Unfortunately, this isn't the first tragedy this family has had to deal with since the show ended. Leslie passed away when she was just 25 years old back in 2012.

While Aaron may have deleted the tweet about his father being found unconscious, he has been active on social media since yesterday. He tweeted at 4:44 p.m. yesterday which might have given the world a clue that something went wrong.

He said, "U-turn back to Las Vegas was headed to Los Angeles but need to go spend some time with the big bro and my family #LøVë ?? I miss them!! ?."

While there was speculation surrounding Aaron's tweet, Nick actually just sadly confirmed the news on social media. He wrote, "I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night…"

He continued, "While we learn more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time."

Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick, Aaron and the rest of their family during this incredibly difficult time.
