Jonas Brothers fans can finally rejoice because a big milestone has just hit the tight-knit family – aside from Nick Jonas’ Golden Globes nomination for Best Original Song for his track “Home” from the movie, Ferdinand. We’ll get to that in a second. But, Joe Jonas actually told Nick that he was proud of him and for anyone that has followed the brothers from their boy band days until now knows that this precious exchange of words hasn’t always been something common between the siblings.

Joe chatted with Gotham magazine at the beginning of 2017 and admitted that he was actually jealous of the success that Nick was having in terms of making music and a solo album. Joe explained, “I’m envious at times, watching his artistry and how he went so quickly into creating music and an album. But I also knew that it was important to take time for myself to be able to figure out what exactly I wanted to do next… now we’re able to support each other from afar.”

Now, afar, might be the wrong word. Nick talked to Entertainment Tonight about the nomination and said, “I don’t think [my brothers] even knew I was in contention, so they were like, ‘Wait, what?’ I called them both right away when I found out the news and my parents got on FaceTime. My mom was crying. It was a sweet moment.”

But, the greatest part is what Joe had to say to him. Nick continued, “[Joe’s] just proud of me. [It’s one of] those moments where life sort of stops for a moment. You look at your brother — and he’s here tonight – [and] he grabbed the back of my head and said, ‘Listen, I love you, I’m proud of you. This is a big moment — enjoy tonight.’ It felt good.” WE’RE CRYING. They have come so far and it’s clearly all about the brotherly love here. Joe just proved that he is not only comfortable and secure with himself and his career, but also that he can come out to support his little brother Nick in public. It definitely feels like a real stepping stone for the pair and we couldn’t be happier for them. Nick was obviously very moved by Joe’s words. We can’t imagine what Joe will do for his little bro if he actually wins the Golden Globe award. Hopefully, we’ll be able to find out!
