Before their hiatus, One Direction teamed up with The Late Late Show host James Corden for an epic Carpool Karaoke video. Now, five years later, the late-night TV host is sharing some unseen footage from their drive around Los Angeles, which included a stop at a McDonald’s drive-thru.

It all started on Wednesday, September 9, when James’ producer and close friend to the 1D boys, Ben Winston, replied to a 2017 tweet asking him to “release the McDonald’s footage.” In two since-deleted replies to fans, he revealed that the footage would be released on The Late Late Show. Naturally, One Direction fans totally freaked out.

However, during the September 9th show, James disappointed some fans when he clarified that he cannot “kidnap” One Direction like they have requested via social media over the years.

“There’s been a trend online that I have frankly been unable to ignore. As you can see here, I’ve had thousands of comments on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, insisting I kidnap One Direction. It’s all my feed is,” the 42-year-old said. “You know they’ve appeared willingly on the show before and I’m not going to brag but I do have their phone numbers.”

He added, “Nothing would give me more pleasure than to see One Direction reunite. I think about it as much as you do. I love those boys with all of my heart, but I simply cannot commit a crime.”

Following his explanation, James did give fans what they asked for and showed unseen footage of the boys ordering at McDonald’s. Liam Payne asked for chicken nuggets, while Harry Styles wanted iced tea and Louis Tomlinson got a chocolate milkshake, which he returned to the drive-thru worker after taking one sip! Along with the never-before-seen footage, The Late Late Show team took fans on a walk down memory lane and relived all of One Direction’s appearances on the show. We’re seriously feeling so nostalgic!

As fans know, this mini-reunion came just months after the band celebrated their 10-year anniversary on July 23 and celebrated all their accomplishments with some seriously emotional tributes.

“I’ve been struggling to put into words how grateful I am for everything that’s happened over the last 10 years. I’ve seen things and places that I’d only ever dreamt of when I was growing up,” Harry wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him hugging his bandmates. “I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most incredible people, and gained friendships that I know I will treasure for the rest of my life.”
