OMG! Disney Channel actress Peyton List has a brand new project we’re super excited about! Deadline reported that the Jessie alum is starring alongside The Hate U Give’s Susan Santiago in the CW’s drama pilot Glamorous.
Glamorous follows the journey of Marco, played by 20-year-old YouTuber Ben J. Pierce. Marco is a gender-nonconforming recent high school grad. He lands the gig of a lifetime interning at a cosmetics company, whose products he panned on YouTube. Who does the blonde beauty play in the series, you ask? Well, Peyton will play a totally over-the-top YouTuber, who goes by the name AlyssaSays. Not only is she competitive, but she finds herself at the same cosmetics firm as Marco.
Peyton is set to be a series regular opposite 53-year-old actress Brooke Shields. Pretty cool, huh? The show is written by television writer Jordon Nardino and directed by 43-year-old actress Eva Longoria (it’s her pilot-directing debut). Susan will play Julia, a super serious lawyer who raised her son in a truly amazing, supportive environment. Her son has always been held to high standards, and once he leaves, Julia works to keep him on the ambitious path she put him on.
Peyton took to social media to share the news with fans and express her excitement about her new role.
“Couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining the ‘Glamorous’ fam,” the 20-year-old BUNK’D star wrote alongside her post.
So what has Peyton been up to since leaving Disney Channel? Well, she recently starred in Hulu’s thriller series Light as a Feather. Aside from that, she guest starred in CBS’ Happy Together. And in addition to her movie Anthem of a Teenage Prophet coming out in January, she’s also going to be a part of the musical remake of the cult classic Valley Girl. She is a busy one – that’s for sure!
