Pia Mia Perez, who you've probably seen hanging out with her BFF Kylie Jenner, has really caught people's attention. Not only does she have awesome style, but she has a voice that will give you chills and is talented enough to even give Drake a run for his money!
She recently got the surprise of her life when she got to sing her version of Drake's hit, "Hold On, We're Going Home," in front of the rapper himself! The Keek of her performing at the Kardashian's dinner table went viral, and what started off as a night goofing off with friends turned into something pretty unexpected.
When we asked Pia what was going through her head when she covered Drake's song right in front of him, she EXCLUSIVELY told J-14.com, "It's funny, Kylie invited me over to dinner because we're really close friends, and I didn't even know that Drake was going to be there."
"It was actually hilarious, because Kylie and I always do these little skits, like we perform them in the front room of her house in the mirror," Pia continued. "She mouths the words and I'm like her backup dancer, and I'm actually singing. It's just a cool thing we do for our friends. She'd heard the cover recently that I did, and so we were performing it for our friends in the front room and Drake walks in. It was so awkward! We were just like, 'Oh, yeah…'"
After sitting down for dinner, the really crazy part happened -- Kanye West, who's engaged to Kylie's sis Kim Kardashian, got Pia to sing for Drake.
"We go sit down for dinner and Kanye randomly calls me out, like in the middle of eating salad," Pia said. "He was like, 'Hey Drake, you've seen Pia, she's got some cool style. Her fashion's really dope, and she's a really good singer.' I was just like, oh my god, something bad's going to happen. And Drake was like, 'Yeah, I see she has good style, I'd love to hear her sing.' And Kanye was like, 'Yeah Pia, why don't you sing something?'"
It was Kylie who suggested Pia should perform her cover of Drake's song, and luckily she did because he was loving it!
"So Kylie was like, 'Why don't you sing the Drake cover?' So I ended up singing that for Drake. It was really nerve-wracking because I changed the whole melody and basically remade his song, but just kept the lyrics. So I was a little nervous! It was really cool though, because Drake really liked it. That was dope!'
As to who liked her dinner table performance most between Drake and Kanye, Pia still isn't really sure because she barely remembers her performance in the first place!
"I'm going to be honest with you, I blacked out a little during the performance, and I don't really remember, because I was so nervous," Pia admits. "The cover's done really well on YouTube. I'm so surprised; I didn't expect it do that!"
Right now Pia's cover is at 2.5 million and we're totally loving it! It's easy to see why even music superstars like Drake and Kanye are super impressed — her voice is flawless!
