The Bellas are back! If our list of 10 things we want to see happen in Pitch Perfect 3 didn't already give it away, we have been beyond pumped for the third movie of the beloved saga for a while. And if you are anything like us over here at J-14, then you have most likely watched Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 over and over again to the point where reciting the lines word for word is second nature by now. Obviously, the music is amazing, but let's be real – "horizontal running" is a concept that remains to be one of the best things that came out of these movies. Genius, really.
So here's what we know.
When does Pitch Perfect 3 come out?
The movie comes out on Friday, December 22, 2017.
Where was Pitch Perfect 3 filmed?
It was shot in Atlanta from January of 2017 through March, and over the course of that time the already tight-knit cast became even more like family. The behind-the-scenes teaser trailer is proof. Prepare for some tears, laughter, and probably a lot more tears.
Which cast members are returning for Pitch Perfect 3?
Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Ester Dean, Chrissie Fit, Hana Mae Lee and Elizabeth Banks are all returning for the show. Unfortunately, the boys aren't set to return. So don't expect to see Skylar Astin, Ben Platt or Adam DeVine in the third film. Also, we'll get to see some new faces like Ruby Rose and DJ Khaled in the film.
What is Pitch Perfect 3 about?
It's time to go on a global tour with The Barden Bellas, who aren't in college anymore. They're out performing in the real world, which means they're on a whole new journey.
And finally, we'll be able to find out why exactly Fat Amy goes by that name – fans will get "a little bit of Fat Amy's origin story," according to director Trish Sie.
Will there be a Pitch Perfect 4?
Only time will tell, but we're all keeping our fingers crossed. Not to mention – a tweet of Rebel's suggests there's a possibility. "Oh, still very much looking forward to continuing the aca-legacy," she wrote.
Hailee is also super on board and would even love for her own music to be in the 4th film.
"Yes absolutely that would be a real dream," she said in an interview. "I love that I have been able to be a part of these movies as a fan of them, so if there's an opportunity down the line, if it's really not over – which I guess I don't even know if it is or not – that would be cool."
We have a feeling Pitch Perfect 3 is going to be the best one yet.
