As we all know K.J. Apa and Cole Sprouse have the cutest bromace we ever did see, but now there’s a new Riverdale guy thrown into the mix. Charles Melton, who replaced Ross Butler’s character Reggie for Season 2, is now an official member of the bro squad – and he is pretty much convinced he is the alpha of the group.

Charles joked in an interview, “Well, [KJ] definitely looks up to me and I keep him in line and everything because he’s a child. [Laughs] He comes to me for life advice and everything, and I’m kind of like his big brother. So yeah, I’m definitely his hero and he definitely looks up to me.”

Oh Charles, what are we going to do with you? K.J. isn’t the only one who apparently worships the ground Charles walks on (well, in his mind anyway).

“So does Cole. He looks up to me as well. It’s kind of coming in and being the alpha male right off the bat with these guys has been a gift within itself. [Laughs] No, no, no — there’s a lot of funny stories. I don’t even know where to begin,” the Riverdale hottie continued.

This seems to be an ongoing theme, as Charles even planned a surprise prank while KJ and Madelaine Petsch stopped by E! News for an interview on the 2017 AMAs red carpet.

The ~fan video~ sent in consisted of Charles in a wig saying, “Yo! KJ Apa! What’s good, man? Oh, man—a huge fan of the show. I love it. It’s amazing, bro,” Melton, who plays high school jock Reggie Mantle, said. “I have so many questions but I’m just going to ask one now: What’s it like being second best at everything—behind Charles Melton?”

TOO. GOOD. Turns out, Charles had no problem getting along with everyone after joining the cast later in the game. Of course, he was a bit nervous going into it, considering that the cast had already formed such strong friendships.

“At first it was a little intimidating, but the cast was so welcoming and open arms and family-oriented. Everyone’s close, we all hang out with each other on set,” he spilled.

So sweet! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for Reggie in the rest of Season 2 – we know there’s going to be a lot more of him this time around!
