With a sound reminiscent of the likes of Lorde and others, we can guarantee that the song is sure to give you all of the feels. Don't believe us? Well, the single already hit #1 on Spotify's Viral Hits Chart for Australia and New Zealand. Now, Robinson is working on bringing her impassioned music to the United States.

Last week, Robinson spent some time in New York City. During this trip, the upcoming artist stopped by our offices, where we at J-14 chatted with her and got to know what she's all about. The singer told us she wants to form a close relationship with her fans through this stripped down release, and shares, "I hope it makes you feel like you're in the room." Take a listen below:

When describing the process of writing her single, Robinson told us that the lyrics were inspired by another trip to America. She recalls her first time in Los Angeles, sitting in a hotel room, and letting herself feel these overwhelming emotions that had built up over the past year.

"This is how 'Don't You Forget About Me' was written: just a piano idea which was then followed by the lyrics and melody, so you're really hearing it in its original state. It takes me back to my first trip to LA, sitting in a hotel room, and feeling these overwhelming emotions that had built up for the past year or so…I felt so relieved when I wrote the song, like a weight had been lifted, so I hope it makes you feel like you're in the room," she said.

The singer has been working with some of the top producers and writers in the industry including Daniel Ledinsky (Tove Lo, Zara Larsson), Fred Gibson (Ellie Goulding), and more. Robinson is definitely a rising star and we can't wait to follow her incredible journey to the top.
