On Sunday, April 26, Sabrina Carpenter took to Instagram and, in a heartfelt message, told her 20 million followers that her grandpa had sadly passed away.

“Rest In Peace Grandpa. The silliest most loving soul who supported me through everything. My heart hurts immensely,” the Girl Meets World alum wrote alongside a series of photos. “I will miss [you] forever. I promise we’ll take good care of [grandma] here. [Love] ya.”

Naturally, many of the actress’ fans and followers took to the comments section and left sweet messages of support for the blonde beauty.

“A wise woman once said, ‘I think about my granddad’s eyes, And they always send me home, I can almost hear him now. Gotta make him proud.’ Stay strong love,” one person wrote. Another added, “Angel I’m so sorry, I’m so so so sorry I’m sending all my love in the entire world. He is with you forever I promise.”

Others shared their condolences and said that they were “praying” for the entire Carpenter family. At this time, it’s unclear exactly how Sabrina’s grandpa passed away.

Aside from her biggest fans, the songstress’ famous friends even left some sweet comments on her meaningful post.

As fans know, this heartbreaking news came just a few days after the former Disney Channel starlet posted a few crying photos and explained that it was “the emotional range” she has shown throughout the current coronavirus quarantine.

“I should be an actress,” Sabrina joked in the caption.

As it turned out, the snaps were screenshots from her episode of Quibi‘s Punk’d reboot, hosted by Chance The Rapper. Although the pics were from the show, some fans were still worried about Sabrina’s mental state amid the pandemic, since she alluded to the fact that she’s been crying a lot. Naturally, they flooded the comments section with messages of support, with one fan writing, “Ok but like this broke my heart.”
