The wait is finally over! After getting teased with awesome trailers and catching little glimpses of the cast, we'll finally get to see Selena Gomez's new passion project, 13 Reasons Why.

The upcoming Netflix drama, which is based on the best-selling novel by Jay Asher, is about a teenage girl named Hannah Baker who leaves behind a series of tapes explaining why she committed suicide. One of her classmates, Clay Jensen, actually discovers the tapes and listens to Hannah explain how the actions of her peers actually caused her to take her own life.

While the message is pretty intense, Selena has been quite vocal about why the project hits so close to home.

"I actually was going through a really difficult time when [the show] started production. I went away for 90 days and I actually met tons of kids in this place that we are talking about. A lot of the issues these characters are experiencing. I would say yes, I've had to deal with it on a different scale," she said, referring to her time in rehab.

Though we're sad that the singer went through such a tough time, it's definitely inspiring to see that she's channelling her experiences to make such a powerful series. The show will star actors like Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Brandon Flynn, and Alisha Boe — and you can finally watch it tomorrow, March 30 on Netflix!
