For those who missed, the flick — starring Gregg Sulkin, Vanessa Marano, Lorenzo James Henrie, Alyssa Jirrels, Jake Short, Jeff Garlin and musicians Lovely The Band — is all about, “a nerdy high school senior and his best friends embark on a road trip to see their favorite band at the biggest music festival of the year. On their journey, they realize that elaborate plans never go off without a hitch, and that you can find true love in the most unexpected places,” according to the movie’s website.
And after checking out this first look, we can all agree that this is about to be the feel-good movie we never knew we needed!
When does the movie officially premiere, you ask? Well, mark your calendars, people, because executive producer, Selena, writer and director, David, and the whole cast are attending a virtual premiere event on Friday, August 28. Tickets to the event cost $11.99 and are available, here. The best part? All the proceeds benefit the PLUS1 Organzation‘s COVID-19 relief fund. Giving back and watching a movie? Yes, please!
But that’s not all! TikTok sister duo Charli and Dixie D’Amelio are set to host the major event and to celebrate their epic performance in the film, Lovely The Band will be performing. This definitely sounds like something we’ll be tuning into!
Missed the announcement? No worries, we’ve got you covered! In an Instagram post, the former Wizards of Waverly Place stars told fans that they wanted the chance to watch the movie with their biggest supporters.
“Most premieres are only for a very small, select group of people, but not this one,” Selena gushed. She then added, “With all the craziness going on in the world, a feel-good movie is just what we need.”
