Before Selena Gomez makes her huge comeback to the stage at the 2017 American Music Awards, the singer has to make sure she’s got everything absolutely everything ready for the night – including her hair. The girl’s got bangs! Judging from her Instagram stories, Sel decided to get a little bit of a choppier style done just before the awards show. She’s no stranger to having a fringe, but this one has some extra edge to it thanks to her much shorter bob.
In the silent video shared on social media, the “Wolves” singer is without a doubt pumped about her performance – which might have a scary movie vibe to it. Fans have already noticed the similarities to her three most recent post and horror classic, The Shining. The cryptic pictures were shared with different captions. The first was simply titled, “American Music Awards.”
That post, which was a picture of three dancers, was captioned “Tonight.” The final post in the trilogy was of two girls with each other’s hands over their heads and included the lyrics, “Looked for love in every stranger.” Thanks to the tags in the post, fans already know her bestie Petra Collins is going to be involved in some way with the performance or at least the aesthetics of it.
After all, she was the mastermind behind the singer’s “Fetish” video. No doubt with the pictures shared, fans are being thrown for a loop with this new concept. Circling back to Selena's hair, it's not entirely clear yet if her bangs are thanks to a wig. Though that doesn't distract from the dramatics behind the style, which are pointing to big changes up-ahead. If this new choppy 'do is a sign of anything – it’s that fans have no idea what’s in store for them ahead of tonight's big performance.
