Selena Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefey, is going through a pretty difficult time right now. Aside from the fact that she reportedly voluntarily went to the hospital over a breakdown she had after Selena told her that she and Justin Bieber were going to couples therapy to work on their relationship, it’s also the anniversary of the day she lost her baby daughter, Scarlett. Well, the anniversary was December 17 – to be exact. Mandy posted an emotional tribute to the baby on Instagram and it will seriously bring on the waterworks. She even talks about a mother’s love for her children including Selena and her youngest daughter, Gracie, in on the post.

Mandy wrote, “Thank you to all the fans who honored our Scarlett yesterday. Dec 17th will never be the same, but we decide to celebrate her by writing her letters on red balloons and releasing them. Now the 17th is intertwined with the wrap of S2. So, she was there in spirit as always. A moms love for their children is pretty fierce. In order of my girls, Selena, Scarlett and Gracie. Family is what matters, blood or not, #family13 made me smile and feel loved when so needed and they didn’t know. Then, I came home to Brian and Gracie to send our love to Scarlett. Fans, I want you to know you are family because I have a huge family and you are the only ones who remember! XO forever.”

The whole thing was not only tragic but beautiful. Mandy expressed exactly how she felt, and we feel like she really connected with the fans on an emotional level. Selena has yet to post anything about the miscarriage that her mom suffered a few years back, but we have a feeling that she’s thinking about her.

The “Bad Liar” singer was last spotted jetting off to Seattle, Washington with the Biebs. The pair were photographed by fans at the Sugar Factory on a romantic date. There’s no telling how long the couple was planning on staying in the city, but with Christmas just around the corner, we have a feeling they are about to go their separate ways. With everything going on in Mandy’s life, including the hospitalization and the anniversary of her daughter’s death, it seems like she needs some family time – without Justin around.
