The reason why this message to the "Starboy" singer may have gone completely unnoticed is because it didn't happen on the "Good For You" singer's own personal page. It was on her mom's Instagram feed and when fans see it, they won't be able to forget it!
Sel's mom, Mandy Teefey, posted this photo on social media with the caption, "Family Game night!! I love them all even though they almost beat me up...@selenagomez 'date' for the night was two hours late so he missed group photo @rayhughesla! NO THEY ARE NOT REALLY DATING. @iamemilydawn @wipeyoownass @lh7management @stephaniehail."
While it seems like an innocent post, let's take a closer look. Selena is sporting a simple black shirt with a red cross and two red lightning bolts, right? WRONG. It's actually The Weeknd's merch!
Stop. It. Right. Now. This is incredible and super sneaky of her! Not only is she supporting her rumored new bae, but Mandy makes a joke out of Selena's love life. The joke actually gives more evidence that The Weeknd and Sel are totally an item. So how does this all make sense?
Well, Mandy mentions that the whole family is having game night and Selena's "date" was two hours late. The word date is surrounded by quotation marks, which is probably a sign that Mandy was being sarcastic. The guy that was supposed to be her date was Ray Hughes, an L.A. talent manager and family friend. Not only did she do that, but Mandy also wrote in capital letters that Ray and Selena aren't REALLY dating – clearing up any and all rumors that Sel and The Weeknd were having trouble in paradise.
One thing is for sure, Selena may not be publicly talking about her new relationship, but she sure is giving the world a lot of clues that she's head over heels in love. AND that she finds The Weeknd's merch a very suitable outfit for family game night!
