If you were wondering what to do with your Monday night, wonder no more! This evening is sure to be anything but boring, with the finale of the second season of Shadowhunters to air on Freeform. The final episode, "Beside Still Water," will definitely give us our drama fix, and will hopefully answer some of our questions from the last episode, and the series as a whole. Is Clary's evil brother Jonathan really gone forever? Will we find out about the deal Valentine made with Seelie Queen? Will Simon and Luke be able to rescue Maia? Fingers crossed that we get some closure to these questions tonight!

If the trailer is anything to go by, this episode is looking to be the best yet. Emotions are running higher than high. There's sure to be plenty of romance, and of course, an epic battle to round out the series. Luckily for us, Freeform has released a short trailer, followed immediately by an extended teaser. It's safe to say we are pretty excited, based on what we can see here.

If the trailer alone isn't enough to satisfy you while you wait for tonight, fortunately the cast have given lots of interviews about what we can expect from the final episode. The cast recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss the upcoming episode, and aside from making us wish we were on a first name basis with, like, all of them, we also learned some juicy details. Katherine McNamara revealed that "someone dies in the finale." Who else is going to die? We can't take it Katherine, you have to tell us!

By now you're probably just thinking: "shut up already and tell me when and where I can watch this episode." Well, fair enough. Here are all the details for tonight's season finale!

What will the Shadowhunters Season 2 finale be about?

The episode will follow Clary and Jace on their mission to try and stop Valentine, Simon and Luke as they try to rescue Maia from Seelie Queen, and Isabelle, Alec, and Magnus as they attempt to close the rift and fight off a group of demons. So yeah, a normal Monday night.

What do we know about the finale so far?

Aside from the synopsis, and the fact that we know someone dies, Katherine McNamara seems to have suggested that there may be more than one death coming up. She told TV Guide, "You've definitely seen one major death, but we're still a long way from the finish line. Stay on your toes, grab some tissues, grab the comfort food of your choice. The finale is brutal, you're going to need it." Gulp.

So who will die in the finale?

We don't know exactly who dies, as the cast have done a good job at remaining tight lipped on the subject. However, we do have a few ideas. McNamara told TV Line of filming the scene with the death: "I was acting with someone I'd been working with for years and we'd built this relationship, working towards this moment — things came out that weren't on the page. It's one of the first times we see Clary break, emotionally and physically."

Oh my god, who is she talking about? Could it be — dare we say it — Jace? That's definitely someone she's built an important relationship with. That being said, if Jonathan isn't really dead, perhaps this episode is where he will meet his end? I guess we'll all just have to wait and see. Additionally, Emeraude Toubia confirmed that there will be more than one death, saying: "There are several deaths."

Anything else to look forward to in this episode?

Yep! Katherine McNamara has recorded an original song for the finale! She also wrote the song, and it'll be available to purchase after the episode airs. The song is called "Ember," and we absolutely are ready.

What time is the Shadowhunters finale on?

The finale airs tonight, Monday, August 14, 2017 at 8/7c. But don't worry if you miss it! You can watch at any time after it airs on Freeform and Hulu.

Where can I watch the season finale of Shadowhunters?

On Freeform! You can watch on the live TV channel, or, if you prefer, sign in online with your TV provider to watch for free on your laptop or mobile device! Via the website, you can watch live TV or rewatch older episodes, promotional clips, and exclusive interviews.

Can you watch Shadowhunters on Hulu or Netflix?

You can watch the show on Hulu if you have an account (and if you don't, then no need to panic, you can sign up for a free trial). Unfortunately for those in the US, you can't watch the show on Netflix, but good news for those outside the country — you can watch on Netflix to your heart's content in every other country that has Netflix.

Did Shadowhunters get renewed for Season 3?

Yes! In April, Freeform renewed the show for a third season, which will debut some time in 2018. Let the waiting soon begin.

What do we know about Season 3 so far?

Well, as you know the show follows the Mortal Instruments book series, and showrunner Todd Slavkin has confirmed that season 3 will center on the book City of Fallen Angels. If you haven't read the books, in City of Fallen Angels, the war between the Shadowhunters and Downworlders is over, and Clary is excited to be developing her powers in comfort at home in New York, plus she's officially dating Jace. However, soon it becomes clear that someone is murdering Shadowhunters, reawakening tensions with the Downworlders. Meanwhile Simon joins the side of vampire Camille Belcourt as the Daylighter, and is therefore finally able to truly join the vampire world. As a result, he is forced to leave home and moves in with his band's new member, Jordan Kyle, who is revealed to be a werewolf. In addition, Jace begins to pull away from Clary, and she must fight to save their relationship and the world that she loves.

So it looks like it's set to be another drama-filled season. That being said, don't panic and think we've just ruined everything for you. The past two seasons of Shadowhunters have not followed the books exactly, and so there's sure to be unexpected developments on the show. In addition to some possible plot spoilers, we also know that Alisha Wainwright, who plays Maia, has been promoted to a series regular! We can't wait to see more of Maia next season. The same team responsible for the first two seasons will continue on into season 3, ensuring we will get plenty more of what we love.

But wait, catch me up to speed on everything that's happened so far in Season 2?

If you need a quick refresher of what's been going on in the second season, then fear not! We are here to help. Season 2 picks up from the first season's finale, where Joclyn was reunited with her daughter Clary and Luke, while Jace joined forces with Valentine to protect his friends. Jace was held captive on Valentine's ship — and sought after, dead or alive, back in New York. Clary tells Jocelyn that Jace is her son, but that doesn't stop her from trying to shoot him when he and Valentine portal back to land. For safety, Jace and Valentine return to the ship.

Clary is kidnapped by Dot and taken to Valentine. Alec manages to track them down, and he and Jace escape the ship, but Alec is rendered comatose by the parabatai tracking. Jace is hunted by werewolves, including Maia, who think he has killed one of them. Isabelle makes a deal with Aldertree to find Jace and save Alec's life, Magnus takes Alec to his loft, and Jace arrives to take him, but then Clave representatives arrive and arrest Jace for treason

Jace is imprisoned in the City of Bones and meets Hodge. Valentine arrives, killing Hodge and stealing the Soul Sword. Meanwhile, at the Institute, Alec kills Jocelyn while possessed. The demon they have been hunting possesses Isabelle, but Clary breaks its hold and kills it. Once Jace is freed, he is banned from the field of duty. Clary makes a blood oath with a warlock that she will provide a favor if her mother is resurrected. The warlock Iris forces Clary to mate with a demon to create more warlocks. Luckily, Clary creates a rune that helps her escape. Simon admits that he is a vampire to his mother, but this does not go to plan and his mother's memory is wiped. The Shadowhunters hold a funeral for Jocelyn, and Luke awakes in the wood.

Maia and Simon find Luke and convince him to return to the pack. Meanwhile Alec and Magnus go on a first date, and despite some complications decide to keep dating. Isabella and Clary travel to the Citadel of the Iron Sisters in their quest to defeat Valentine. While there, Luke's sister Cleophas kills an Iron Sister and reactivates Circle One, declaring her allegiance to Valentine. Cleophas tells Valentine about Clary's ability to create runes. Meanwhile, Isabella struggles with a yin fen addiction, and Clary and the gang rescue an angel being held captive by Valentine who shows them a vision of a cloaked figure destroying the Soul Sword.

Simon and Clary start dating, meanwhile Isabelle is getting yin fen (which comes from vampires) by letting Raphael feed on her. At a party for Magnus' brother Max, guests begin seeing their greatest fears. They have been bewitched by Iris the warlock, who is captured and sent to Idris. Magnus tells Clary that her rune abilities mean she has angel blood, and can activate the Soul Sword. Clary's hand start to turn to stone as a symptom of her blood oath, and she is told to cure it she must go to and find Madzie. Maia, fearing Clary's powers, tries to kill her. The Downworlders meet, and some agree that Clary should be killed. Meanwhile, Clary is is sent to Valentine, but Jace and Simon save her. However, Valentine captures Simon.

There is a showdown at the Institute. As Jace and Valentine battle for the sword, it is revealed that Valentine is not Jace's father after all. Afterward, Alec and Magnus declare their love for each other, and as Valentine is arrested, the Soul Sword is picked up by a dark figure. Valentine is tortured for the location of the Mortal Cup. The Greater Demon Azazel arrives in town, and attacks Isabelle, but she is saved by a stranger named Sebastian. Magnus lures Azazel to a summoning circle, but he escapes and casts a body-swapping spell on Magnus and Valentine. Azazel attacks Alec at Magnus' loft, but is defeated, leaving Magnus and Valentine trapped in one another's bodies. Alec (looking like Valentine) is captured in the Institute and tortured for information about the Mortal Cup. Meanwhile Valentine (looking like Magnus) has kidnapped Jace. Eventually the body-swapping is undone, and Clary pushes Valentine through a portal to a cell at the Institute.

Some Shadowhunters are killed and their runes are cut off, and Jace is appointed head of the New York Institute. Jace agrees to put tracking chips in the Downworlders, and chips Maia. Later, Jace appoints Alec as the head of the Institute. Maia is de-chipped on Jace's orders, and Jace and Maia get together. Clary and Jace are sent on a mission to the Seelie Court. There, the Seelie Queen reveals that Clary and Jace have feelings for each other, creating tension between Simon and the Shadowhunters.

Simon breaks up with Clary, and he is introduced to a club named Bleeder's Den, where vampires bite humans for enjoyment. It is revealed that a man is being held captive in Sebastian's apartment, and that this man is the real Sebastian. The real Sebastian escapes, but is killed. Valentine is accidentally sent by portal to Sebastian's apartment, where it is revealed that Valentine is his father. Sebastian holds Valentine captive. Jace and Clary search for Valentine, and Clary realizes that her real brother Jonathan is alive.

Sebastian has the Soul Sword, and he and Valentine search for the Mortal Mirror to complete their possession of all three Mortal Instruments. However, Jace and Clary find the mirror, as Clary's mother had hidden it. Max tracks down Sebastian, claiming that he is Jonathan, and is attacked by him.

The Seelie Queen proposes an alliance with the Downworld against Valentine. Jonathan steals the Mortal Mirror. Magnus chooses his people over Alec, and they break up. Clary discovers that Sebastian is Jonathan and she manages to retrieve the mirror. However, the mirror gets destroyed, and she realizes it is not the real mirror, and that the real one is in Lake Lyn in Idris. Clary and Jace track Jonathan down in a cemetery. Here, they fend off a pack of rabid Forsaken and Jace is wounded. Jace and Jonathan fight, and Jace stabs Jonathan and throws his body into the river. Clary heals Jace and the two kiss. It is also revealed that Maia has been kidnapped.
