On September 24, 2019, the YouTube world was shook when Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star dropped the trailer for their exclusive docuseries, The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star. Now that the series has concluded, fans are reaching out to the YouTube stars on social media and asking why there wasn’t an episode surrounding the infamous James Charles and Tati Westbrook drama.

For those who missed it, back in May the two beauty gurus made headlines while publicly feuding when Tati released a video exposing James. In the lengthy video, she accused him of lying, manipulating and being a disrespectful person. Footage surrounding this scandal was a prominent feature in the initial trailer for The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star, but the scenes never made the final cut.

During a recent Instagram Live, Shane opened up about his decision to remove the James drama from the series.

“I have a whole Dramageddon episode edited,” he explained. “It’s an hour and a half long… It’s f**king insane, it’s crazy, whatever, right? I don’t think it makes anybody look… Like, I didn’t wanna hurt anyone… There’s no crazy new information… it’s just kind of me in the world and, like, seeing what happens and everyone kind of f**king up and learning from it and moving on.”

He then went on to say that he showed James the footage and, together, the two made the decision to not include anything surrounding the scandal. Shane described the series as “positive” and “empowering” so he didn’t want to bring up any old YouTube drama.

“I don’t want to leave people feeling weird… because I feel weird. I should have never put the drama in the trailer. I should have never done that… but I did it because I thought that’s what the series was.”

During the Instagram Live, Shane said that he’s so happy with how the series turned out and believed that the last episode felt like a finale.

“That last video felt like the end… It felt like a finale to me. I feel like that last video is my favorite video I’ve ever made in my whole life,” he revealed.
“Nothing feels as meaningful as that last episode did, when I was crying in the factory. That to me was the best moment of my whole life.”
