You might want to brace yourselves, you guys, because we are just a few hours away from a new Shawn Mendes song. That’s right. After months without any new music from the Canadian cutie, he announced that he’s dropping his much-anticipated new single on Friday, May 3, 2019, and we’ve got all the deets.

Shawn shared the news via his Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, and naturally, the internet quickly went wild. The new song will be called “If I Can’t Have You,” and you can pre-save it here. SCREAMING.

The singer teased the new song with a colorful, dreamy graphic that contained clouds, stars and a rose. OMG. But what does it mean, you ask? Will it be a fast bop like “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back,” or a slower, more acoustic sounding song like “Mercy?” Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait and see. But luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer! There is one thing we know for sure though — it’s definitely going to be epic.

And you might want to mark your calendars because the 20-year-old is set to appear on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on May 4, 2019, and we’re praying he performs the new hit!

As fans know, Shawn’s song isn’t the only new music to get excited about lately. Taylor Swift just dropped her new single, “ME!,” and has an album coming right around the corner. The Jonas Brothers recently revealed their new album, Happiness Begins, is coming out this June. BTS just dropped their much-anticipated albumMap of the Soul: Persona, which contains a bop with Halsey. And not to mention that Justin Bieber has been teasing a new collab with Ed Sheeran that will be out on May 10, 2019. Wow, there’s so much new music coming out that we can’t decide what to listen to first!
