Shia LaBeouf has confirmed that he in fact is a married man! Last week a live-stream of a wedding in a Las Vegas wedding chapel appeared on TMZ, which led many to believe that he had tied the knot with his girlfriend of four years Mia Goth.
The actor appeared on The Ellen Show where he confirmed that they had gotten married, and he was even wearing a wedding ring!
“Congratulations, I think you just got married,” Ellen said.
“I did, yes. You said ‘I think’ because you thought I was messing around or something,” he replied.
He went on to explain that it was never meant for the ceremony to be made so public. “The plan was for it to be a private deal. Part of the package, the King Tut package, you get a live stream for free.”
“We get home and it’s like, ‘Woah hey, listen something changed,’ “ he said. “So I called them up and they said, ‘Somebody pressed the wrong button that sends the video to TMZ.’"
“We’re proud of it. It was love. Dads couldn’t be there so it was kind of nice to have them there in a way," he said.
Some people had doubts that this was a real wedding since the former Disney Channel actor is known for elaborate performance pieces and then the Clark County, Nevada's clerk office tweeted that there was no marriage license available for the couple.
We are glad that he has cleared the air, and now we can properly congratulate the couple on their union! Congratulations!
