Sky Katz of Raven’s Home is living the dream of so many kids who grew up hoping one day they could be on Disney Channel – and yes, it was her dream all along, too. We caught up with the actress and singer to talk all about how she got to where she is today – and she dished about everything from the Raven’s Home audition process to her dream of having Selena Gomez come out of Disney Channel retirement.

“I grew up watching Disney Channel with my three older siblings. As long as I can remember I would watch and think to myself how amazing it would be on a Disney show,” Sky exclusively tells J-14. “I love everything about being on Raven’s Home. I’m lucky to work with my best friend Navia every day and nothing is better than that.”

The star spills, “First I sent my audition on a video tape from New York to California. Then, I flew out to audition in person. It was all I could think about for a few weeks – hoping I was going to get the part. A couple weeks later – when I was in my hotel room getting ready to perform at SXSW – my dad walked into the room with a crazy smile on his face, along with someone holding a video camera. I knew something was up. When he told me I booked the role of Tess, I completely freaked out!”

Seeing as Sky has always been a true a Disney Channel fan like the rest of us, she has a particular dream that we are totally getting behind. The star really wants a particular someone to star as her big sis on Raven’s Home.

“I would bring Selena Gomez out of Disney retirement and have her guest star as my big sister. I’m such a super fan of hers. I love that she does it all – she sings, acts and produces.”

So what’s next for Sky?! Aside from Season 2 of Raven’s Home, the star has some music in the works.

“There’s a lot of great episodes from season 2 coming that I think people are really going to love. I’m also working on new music that I can’t wait to share with everyone soon!”

We can’t wait to see all the amazing things she has in store!
