Relationships are definitely not easy, and if there’s one couple that understands how difficult love can truly be, it’s Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. Despite being one of our fave couples in Hollywood, the newlyweds’ road to married life has certainly had its ups and downs. In fact, the pair actually split for a whole 24 hours before their wedding!
That’s right! In a recent interview with The Times, the Game of Thrones star revealed that both she and her then-fiancé both had a case of cold feet leading up to their Las Vegas nuptials, which took place on May 1, 2019.
“It was the worst day of our lives,” the 23-year-old revealed to the publication. “For a second we both had cold feet, then 24 hours later we were both, like, ‘Never mind.'”
So what exactly was it that made the couple second guess their marriage? Well, she didn’t exactly say. However, the actress did reveal that their relationship had a blip when they first began dating, which she credits to her poor mental health at that time.
“I was going through this phase of being very mentally unwell,” she recalled. “He was, like, ‘I can’t be with you until you love yourself, I can’t see you love me more than you love yourself.’ That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way.” Aww!
Clearly, these two are soulmates, and even though they got nervous to tie the knot in the hours before their wedding, we 100 percent think they made the right choice by following through. After all, these two are pretty much obsessed with one another. Just last month, for example, the Jonas Brother left a love note for Sophie on the bathroom mirror, and if that doesn’t scream true love, we don’t know what does.
“I love you, Bub! I am so glad you are back,” the adorable note read.
And that’s just one example of Jophie’s most adorable moments! The point is, these two are perfect for each other, and let’s be real: Cold feet before getting married is totally normal.
