It’s official, Willa is a big sister! Sophie Turner gave birth and welcomed baby No. 2 with husband Joe Jonas.

“Joe and Sophie are happy to announce the arrival of their baby girl,” reps for the couple told People on Thursday, July 14.

Despite keeping details of their home life under wraps, the new mom of two opened up about her family in a rare interview with Elle U.K. earlier this year.

“It’s what life is about for me — raising the next generation,” the Game of Thrones alum, 28, shared in the profile, which was released on May 4. “The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength. We’re so excited to be expanding the family. It’s the best blessing ever.”

While Sophie and Joe, 32, confirmed their second pregnancy in May, speculation about baby No. 2 started in early 2022. In Touch was first to report in March 2022 that the happy couple were expecting, with multiple outlets confirming shortly after.

When Sophie and Joe walked the red carpet at the Met Gala in May 2022, they proudly showed off her baby bump.

The couple welcomed their first baby girl Willa, 1, in July 2020. The couple kept Sophie’s first pregnancy out of the public eye, and continue to keep their daughter’s life private. When asked why they do not post photos of their child on social media, Sophie responded, “[My daughter] did not ask for this life,” in an Instagram Story from May 2021.

In the same Elle U.K. interview, Sophie opened up about Willa’s reaction to her new sibling on the way. “I’ll point to my stomach and say, ‘What’s in there?’ And she’ll go, ‘Baby.’ But then she points to her own stomach and says, ‘Baby,’ and then she’ll point to her dad’s tummy and say, ‘Baby.’ So, I think she just thinks that a belly is a baby and that’s the name for it. But she is a lot clingier than normal, so I think she has an idea. She wants Mummy all of the time — she’s claiming her territory,” she shared.

Sophie has opened up about how becoming a mother has affected her own life and career while speaking to The Wrap in April 2022.

“The concept of family has made me a much more emotional person. The empathy is heightened; the feelings about family are just overflowing,” she shared. “It’s made me a better actor for becoming a mother — because the only way to become a really brilliant actor is to experience as much life as possible and to bring those experiences in.”
