Leave it up to talk show host Wendy Williams to stir up some drama in this week’s most talked about couple – Selena Gomez and The Weeknd.
Selena and The Weeknd were caught outside of a Los Angeles hot spot kissing after a dinner date. This came as a huge surprise to both his fans and hers. He had just split from longtime girlfriend Bella Hadid only two months before the photos were released. At first glance, everyone thought Selena and The Weeknd were the real deal.

Now, Wendy and other sources claiming they’ve chatted with Justin Bieber about the whole thing are thinking otherwise. TMZ reported that Justin thinks he knows what’s going on because Sel has done this before – it’s an old trick that she plays on most guys, allegedly. “The singer says he’s been there, and believes Selena’s using The Weeknd for promotion. Bieber’s intel — and ours — is that Abelena are working on music together.”
Now, Wendy is speaking her mind and basically saying the same thing.
She said, “When Selena wants to push out new music, they say she dates the stars that are going to help her along with collabs and things like that, and then when the music is out, she drops them and moves on to the next one.”
Yikes! Wendy continued, “What keeps you in the public eye more than a popping relationship?” She also mentioned that she thinks Sel is one of the most manufactured artists in the biz and that she is just downright not a singer.
The words are super harsh. While Selena has proven herself time and time again when it comes to her vocals, no one is still sure about her intentions with The Weeknd. She was seen out and about in Los Angles carrying her phone that was in plain view for the paparazzi to see. Her screen was set to The Weeknd’s “Starboy” album! No freaking way…
That seems really suspicious if she was actually trying to hide their relationship in the first place. Only time will tell if they come out with a hit song together or if they really have fallen head over heels.
