Who remembers when Tana Mongeau attempted to hold her own version of Vidcon, called Tanacon, back in 2018, but it ended in total chaos? Well, you guys might want to brace yourselves because there’s rumors going around the web at the moment the suggest the YouTuber is bringing back the controversial event.

Yep, some fans noticed that Michael Weist, the CEO of event organization company Good Times — which helped run TanaCon in 2018 — seemingly registered a trademark for a new convention called “Tanacon” on April 7, 2020. Neither he nor Tana have spoken out about it, but people are convinced this means that they’re planning on redoing the festival.

For those who missed it, after an overwhelming amount of people showed up to Tanacon in an attempt to see stars like Bella Thorne, Shane Dawson and more, the event was deemed unsafe and had to be canceled. Fans waited for hours in the heat to get in, and some even ended up getting sick.

“I’ve never had an experience like this. I’ve never been crushed up against a fence with my legs pressed between two tables. I’ve never stood in the sun for five plus hours straight. I’m up in my hotel room just baffled,” one fan wrote at the time.

I wasted $150 on #Tanacon. It’s one hallway, one big concert room and no activities,” another attendee shared on Twitter. “No creators are walking around like promised. We stood outside for four hours, just to be treated like animals.”

“Just found out Tanacon has been canceled. I’m so sorry to anyone that came out here to see me. It wasn’t my event and if it was it would have been run differently,” Shane tweeted after everything went down. “I’m heart broken looking at the videos of people waiting all day in the sun getting burnt.”
