Not a lot going on at the moment

A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

The “Look What You Made Me Do” songstress shared a selfie to her account on Monday, April 27, which she captioned, “Not a lot going on at the moment” — an ode to a shirt she wore during her “22” music video. But the shady part? She posted it at exactly 5:08 P.M., which has some fans speculating that she’s going to drop something on May 8, 2020.

That’s not all. In the singer’s latest music video for her hit song “The Man,” she included one flash-forward scene, which said, “58 years later…” 58? 5:08? Yeah, it’s possible that it’s all a coincidence, but it could also mean the blonde beauty is going to surprise fans with something pretty epic on May 8. Guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Some people think she’s going to release a new song, while others have suggested that the musician may be dropped the music video for her next single off of her latest album, Lover, which came out on August 23, 2019. Either way, we know it’s going to be amazing!

As fans know, the exciting rumors come just days after a brand new live album from the pop star was released. But unfortunately, it hit stands without her permission. Yep, Taylor’s old record label, Big Machine Records, released the new LP, which featured songs from one of Taylor’s 2008 shows, without her knowledge. And she was definitely not happy about it.

“Hey guys — I want to thank my fans for making me aware that my former record label is putting out an ‘album’ of live performances of mine tonight. This recording is from a 2008 radio show performance I did when I was 18. Big Machine has listed the date as a 2017 release but they’re actually releasing it tonight at midnight,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “I’m always honest with you guys about this stuff so I just wanted to tell you that this release is not approved by me. It looks to me like Scooter Braun and his financial backers, 23 Capital, Alex Soros and the Soros family and the Carlyle Group have seen the latest balance sheets and realized that paying $330 MILLION for my music wasn’t exactly a wise choice and they need money.”

Taylor concluded her statement with, “In my opinion… Just another case of shameless greed in the time of coronavirus. So tasteless, but very transparent.”
