It’s been over a decade since Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas dated, and it’s safe to say they’ve both grown up a lot since then. For instance, Joe is now married to actress Sophie Turner, and Tay is happily dating her boyfriend of many years, Joe Alwyn. But that doesn’t mean the pop star hasn’t said some pretty savage things about her ex-boyfriend in the past that she’s come to regret years later.

Yup! Despite not publicly speaking about the Jonas Brother in years, the “ME!” singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on May 15 and opened up about the time she totally slammed him on her show.

When Ellen asked the “Look What You Made Me Do” songstress to reveal the most rebellious thing she did as a teenager, she referenced that TV appearance from 2009, which was meant to promote her sophomore album, Fearless.

“Probably when I like put Joe Jonas on blast on your show,” the music icon said. “That was too much. Yeah, that was too much. I was 18. Yeah, we laugh about it now, but that was mouthy. Just some teenage stuff there.” TBH, it happens to the best of us.

Funny enough, Ellen had no recollection of that ever happening.

“That’s held onto you because I don’t remember that at all,” the talk show host joked.

But just because the comedian doesn’t remember the fact that the 29-year-old threw all that shade so many years ago, that doesn’t mean it never happened. In fact, true Swifties remember that moment like it was yesterday.

While speaking about the songs on her second album, the music icon said, “There are a couple of people that they’re about actually. There’s one that’s about [Joe Jonas], but that guy’s not in my life anymore, unfortunately. That’s an ouch.”

Even though it didn’t work out with the “Sucker” singer, she remained hopeful while also slamming the former Disney Channel star for the way he broke her heart.

“You know what? It’s like, when I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful,” Taylor said. “And when I look at that person, I’m not even going to be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.”

Yeah, we’ll never forget that iconic moment in TV history.
