It’s finally here! Yep, on Thursday, August 27, Netflix dropped the first trailer for their brand new horror flick The Babysitter: Killer Queen. For those who don’t know, the movie — set to be released on September 10 — is a sequel to the 2017 film The Babysitter, and will bring some of your favorite characters back to life. And from the looks of it, they’re scarier than ever!
That’s right, Bella Thorne, Robbie Amell, Hana Mae Lee, Andrew Bachelor and Samara Weaving are back with a vengeance and it looks like have some serious plans for revenge on Judah Lewis, Emily Alyn Lind and his friends. According to the streaming service, the sequel takes place two years after the events in the first movie.
“Cole (played by Judah) continues to be haunted by the horrific events of that night. Everyone in his life thinks he has lost his mind since Bee (played by Samara) and all of her friends disappeared, making Cole’s story hard to believe. He is still hopelessly smitten with his best friend and next door neighbor Melanie (played by Emily) — the only one who believes his story — who convinces him to forget the past and come to a party thrown at a nearby lake. But when old enemies unexpectedly return, Cole will once again have to outsmart the forces of evil and survive the night,” Netflix’s official synopsis reads.
Aside from the original cast, former Disney Channel star Jenna Ortega also has a major role in the film and hilariously reintroduced fans to the demonic cult — or as she called them, the “psycho Breakfast Club” — in the trailer. According to the film’s director, McG, fans can expect some “heightened reality” once The Babysitter: Killer Queen hits the streaming service.
“What I love is that the film is not one-dimensional and I really liked the challenge of synthesizing a bunch of tones that don’t traditionally co-exist: it’s funny, action-packed, thrilling and ultimately, surprisingly, emotional,” he dished to EW. “The film is also filled with pop culture references and homages to my favorite filmmakers and films.”
Can it be September 10 already?!
